NEET UG - Maharashtra State Medical Admission Process.

It is very challenging for Medical Aspirants to get familiar with the admission process and get into courses like  MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS / BPTh / BOTh / BASLP / BP&O  & B.Sc Nursing Courses even after qualifying NEET UG Exam ,specially for Maharashtra State Candidates.

Therefore to simplify the Maharashtra State Counselling Process I am writing this Article.

There are mainly Two types of admission process for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS & BUMS courses -

All India Counselling - 15% of total intake Medical/Dental & Ayush courses Government Colleges seats, 100% All India Deemed Colleges seats & 100% Central university colleges seats are filled from All India Counselling.

State Counselling - 85% of Medical/Dental & Ayush courses Government Colleges seats, 100% Private Colleges seats (including-minority Colleges) are filled from State counselling

Maharashtra State Admission process Step by Step.


Commissionerate State CET CELL Maharashtra website- https://www.mahacet.org conducts online counseling for admission to all the Health & Science Courses (MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS / BPTh / BOTh / BASLP / BP&O / B.Sc Nursing) on the basis of merit which is based on marks obtained by aspirants in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test NEET

1- Admission process will Start from the registration process itself ,candidates will have to register on www.mahacet.org for participating in online counseling process,candidates will have to fill & upload all required details & documents such as leaving certificate, 12th passing certificate, Domicile certificate, NEET Marks etc on mahacet website, after submitting the Online Application Form, candidates will have to pay registration fees online for participation in the state counseling process.

2- After knowing all the details Cet cell will declare a serial number list of all the participants registered Candidates.

3- After declaring state Merit list of all eligible participants, candidates have to fill preference of choice of courses & colleges online on mahacet portal ,candidates can fill as many preferences as they want.
Please Note : The Online preference form filling process will be divided into two groups. Group  A:- For MBBS / BDS courses. Group  B:- For all courses other than MBBS/BDS courses:- Candidates should fill the desirous preferences of the courses in either of the groups (A or B) or both the groups (A & B)

The candidate can fill online preference form multiple times before clicking the submit button. Once the submit button is clicked, then there is no provision to change the preferences.These preferences will be used for 1st round and subsequent rounds including the Mop-Up round of selection/upgradation (if any). Upgradation in the subsequent round including the Mop-Up round is compulsory.

4- As per candidates preferences Cet Cell declare first selection List, if candidate name is there in 1st selection list candidate will have to secure his/her admission by paying the required Fees and other formality at the allotted college, if candidates fail to secure admission then such candidates will disqualify for the further round of admission process.
Note: Initially only MBBS & BDS Admission Process will start means the first selection list is only for MBBS & BDS courses.

5- There are 2 Rounds of online selection list of MBBS & BDS courses After that there will be 2 Mop-up Rounds, both are online for government colleges & one Mop-up round for private colleges.

6- After 1st MBBS Mop-up round of Private colleges if the seat will remain vacant then it is surrendered to respective private colleges.

7- Those candidates who are interested to participate in private colleges seats can apply to respective private colleges directly for admission, private colleges will be given only 3 or 4 days of time for filling up their vacant seats.

8- After Declaring 1st Selection list of MBBS & BDS courses ,Group B preferences filling will start for the remaining Health & Science courses & the same process will be followed
