Infrastructure

The GIMS has four lecture halls with gallery types. LC I, LC II and LC III having a seating Capacity of 180 students each. These Lecture halls are used by Medical College. LC IV has a seating Capacity of 200 students that hall is used by the Hospital.

All of these lecture halls provides such facilities like audiovisual aids, projector, LCD projector, slide projector, and microphone. All lecture halls are formally shared by all departments. GIMS also has 2 Examination halls for conducting the exam. In total, it is built on over 3400 square meters. There are 450 students in each of these rooms.

Library

The Medical College has an exclusive library with 5065 collections covering all departments. The library’s resources include a good collection of reference books, recommended books, textbooks, works such as encyclopedias, data books, dictionaries, catalogs, journal volumes, project reports, etc.

In addition, the library subscribes to 30 national and international journals. The library was built on an area of ​​2400 square meters and that can simultaneously accommodate 500 students.

It provides a number of database access to the campus network, electronic resources and OPAC-related access to its larger collection.

The student inside reading room provides 320 seating capacity and outside reading room provides 150 seating capacity, and also 30 persons can seat in the reading room for staff. It also has 40 computers with internet access. Library opening hours from 8am to 8pm.

Hostel

Gulbarga Medical College has a separate hostels for boys and girls on campus. It has well-equipped rooms with all modern facilities, a hygienic kitchen, nutritious meals, comfortable and a portable source of drinking water.

24 hours security with appropriate hostels and CCTV cameras are placed around the clock for constant monitoring and vigilance for student safety. We have separate hostel facilities for post-graduate students and residents and Nurses on the campus with good accommodation and catering facilities.

The campus provides 256 rooms for UG students, 40 rooms for students and 40 rooms for Nurses.It also providing Residential quarters for teaching and Non-teaching staff.

Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences is situated in Gulbarga city, 625km north of Bangalore state capital of Karnataka and Its officially known as Kalaburagi. The City has several architectural wonders built during the reign of the Bahmani Kingdom, including Jama Masjid located in Fort Gulbarga.

Gulbarga is well connected by Road and Train networks as the Gulbarga bus stand is located 3km from the college which is about 15 minutes to travel. The Nearest Railway station is Gulbarga Railway station about 2 km away from the college with 5min travel. Gulbarga has a Domestic Airport located 15 km from the College that takes 30 minutes drive.
