Kasturba Medical College - Manipal is a Deemed MBBS Medical College was established in 1953 ,the College is affiliated with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Deemed University), Manipal with total intact of 250 MBBS & 221 Post MBBS MD/MS/ Diploma seats.
Kasturba Medical College Manipal was established in the year 1953 and it was the first self financing Medical college in India.
The Medical college is approved by the Medical Council of India, the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council and Australian Medical Council.
The KMC situated as barren hillock spread over as a green environmental with all modern amenities conducive to student learning.

The KMC Manipal campus is spread over an area of 600 acres which consists of Teaching Hospital and modern clinical facilities for the students.
Library
KMC Manipal Library has covers approx an area of 13,950 sq.m with fully Air-Conditioned. The Library has total collection of around 20000 books with 72 Indian journals, 248 Foreign journals and 50 internet nodes.
It has inside and outside reading room for students that has the capacity of 250 students. It also has the separate reading room for Staff and PG students are available.
Hostel
Kasturba Medical College, Manipal has the separate hostels for boys and girls. KMC Manipal hostel provides Air conditioned study room with internet & computer, Mess, Hygienic hostel campus with attached toilet facility.
Kasturba Manipal hostel has 940 capacity for UG students, 48 capacity for interns, 403 for PG students, 307 for Nurses. In hostel 48 interns are staying in the hostel campus.
Even though accommodation is available in the hostel campus, others wants to stay outside. Also, KMC Manipal has the residential quarters for Teaching and Non-Teaching staff that has the capacity for 129 and 59 vice versa.

Kasturba Medical College is located in Manipal and today its popularly known as international university town.
The city has well connected with Road as well as Rail network. In addition, International Airport is available in Mangalore which is another nearest city and takes 90 minutes drive from Manipal at a distance of 62km.
Udupi railway station is the nearest railway station which is located 8 kms from the college and its well connected with other states of India.
