The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous government public medical universities of higher education under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , Government of India. These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur is one of the AIIMS Group Government MBBS Medical College was established in 2018 ,the College is affiliated with Statutory Autonomous, AIIMS (Nagpur) with total intact of 125 MBBS & 32 Post MBBS MD/MS/ Diploma seats.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences [AIIMS] was designed to serve as a nucleus for nurturing excellence in all aspects of health and wellness throughout India. AIIMS are a group of autonomous public medical institutes that have been declared by an Act of Parliament 1956 as “Institute of National Importance”. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur is one among the four AIIMS announced during the budget speech 2014-15 under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY).
The Foundation stone for the institute was laid by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis at Sector 20, MIHAN on 14th April 2017. Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Highway and Shipping (GoI), Shri Nitin Gadkari, and several other dignitaries graced the occasion. The primary objective of AIIMS is “correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country”.
With a campus spanning over 150 acres of land in the Special Economic Zone, MIHAN, the institute is committed to its mission of providing the highest levels of patient satisfaction, healthcare, safety, dignity and rights through evidence-based clinical practices of the highest standard and transparent management processes. Working tirelessly, within a short span of time, it has been unfaltering in its efforts to provide the best medical education and training with all modern facilities and is progressing towards becoming a Center of Excellence in teaching, patient care, and research. Currently, students for MBBS, post-graduation, and Ph.D courses are enrolled with the institute.

Infrastructure
The spacious hospital facilities are designed to provide easy accessibility to the patients, with ramps for physically challenged people constructed in every pathway. The in – patient wards are air conditioned and with plenty of light, bringing in a hopeful environment to aid in patient recovery. There are five fully furnished air-conditioned lecture halls dedicated to conduct classes for the students of AIIMS, Nagpur.
They are equipped with modern teaching tools like LCD projector for presentations and wireless microphone system. The practical laboratories & dissection hall of pre-clinical subjects are designed with all modern facilities for better teaching and clinical teaching with use of simulators and live demonstration is perfect for honing the practical skills of students. With the aim of innovative and ground breaking Medical Research, various research facilities are being developed in the campus.
The Institute is also in the process of procuring various equipment with cutting edge technology to facilitate the same. The campus has adequate accommodation with all above mentioned facilities for the students including a 13-floor U.G. male hostel, 6-floor U.G. female hostel, and a postgraduate hostel at present. Construction of other hostels including nursing student hostel and PG (married) hostels is in full swing. All hostels have round-the-clock security & CCTV cameras.
