Infrastructure

Miraj Government medical college is spread over approximately 34.3 acres of area. The blocks of Physiology and Anatomy Departments were built on the barren outskirts of Miraj and put to use from June 1964. The old building consisting of two laboratory halls and a Lecture hall were then utilized for the para-clinical departments. Departments of Preventive and Social Medicine, Pathology, and Pharmacology buildings were constructed in 1969.

The present Microbiology and Biochemistry departments (then Canteen and College Office ) started functioning in 1972. Old boys’ Hostel and Staff quarters were subsequently constructed. In 1982 under the crash program Library, Ladies Hostel, New Boys’ Hostel, and more staff quarters were constructed. Miraj Medical College has a fully equipped auditorium which is used in organizing events and activities for the students.

Government Medical Institute of Miraj provides transportation facilities to the students, staff, and faculty for their transportation from various parts of the city.

Libary

Government Medical College of Miraj has sophisticated library facilities. This was created in 1982 under the crash program included with accommodation facilities. It has a well-stocked library with all kinds of text and reference books for the students. This government medical institute has well-furnished facilities available in reading rooms, it has separated reading rooms for students and staff and faculties.

This library has separated department sections each with more than 250 books and other journals are available. E-Library facilities available in GMC Miraj, with needed equipment and other facilities like Computer, Lap-Top, LCD Projector are available.

Hostel

The Government Medical Institute provides well accommodation facilities to the students and It has separate hostels for girls and boys, and separated staff accommodation with all the necessary facilities such as Wi-Fi networks, indoor games, etc.

These hostels are provided with clean and good rooms. The room are available for 1st and 2nd year’s with one room per 3 students and from 3rd they provide us with one room for a single student. The hostel and washrooms are clean and the water supply is Continuous. It has provided with Good food and hygiene dining facilities.
